History
My boyfriend and I got Guinness (who was called Ophelia for a short time) at the city pound in May of '95. She was initially brought in as a stray. Someone had tied a rubberband around her tail causing gangrene, and her tail had to be amputated (she now has a little stub). A family adopted her, but brought her back saying that she was too hyperactive for their child (poor Guinness, no one loved her). When we adopted her, we found out that she was indeed very hyper, but she has calmed down a bit and doesn't eat everything anymore. We attempted an obedience class, but it just isn't in her genes, c'est la vie. She has more personality than any other dog I have seen, and she can juggle. What a dog!!! She is, The Wonder Dog! She also is trying to lose weight and farts a lot, (not related). She's a little embarassed that I am mentioning this last part.

In May of '96, I decided Guinness needed a friend. She goes nuts whenever she sees another dog, so I figured if she had a friend she would calm down. So I went to the pound again, and decided to adopt Autumn. She is a really dark chocolate color with red mixed in. It was her color that caught my eye. Apparently her owner (a woman) was arrested, so they took her to the pound. Poor Autumn. I have no idea what kind of dog she is. Two people at the vet said that she looks like a Boykin Spaniel, which she does except for her hair (it's not curly enough). But she definitely is some sort of hunting dog. Guinness and she get along very well, but now both of them go nutty when they see other dogs, and walking two dogs at once is not always easy. It is often like flying a kite in very windy weather (I have those leashes that expand and roll up). Both of them, for their size, are amazing pullers (must be the Husky in Guinnes).

Autumn is a morning dog, Guinness likes to sleep in (she must take after Dan). Autumn is more affectionate and cuddly. Guinness doesn't like to be cuddled, but she doesn't want Autumn to have any attention either. Guinness is a bully and throws her weight around a lot, especially to knock poor Autumn off the bed. Autumn practically goes into a coma when you brush her. Alomst instantly, she will fall asleep. Both of them beg whenever we eat, but they never get any food. You's figure they would give up at some point. Sometimes, they get this crazy look on their face like they must have the food that we are eating or they will die.
